Writre is designed to be as easy to use as possible. We will try to clarify some of the most important features and answer some frequently asked questions on this page. If you are having any continued difficulties, please feel free to contact us at any time.
- Main Features
-
Writre's main features are fairly simple. The site is focused on the literary works of contributing members. Users can create a work, edit it, and delete it. They may also look at the work of other writers and offer comments or suggestions.
- Writing
- All writing takes place on the 'Write' page. A work is put into one of three categories: poetry, stories, or non-fiction. After a work has been written and saved (remember to save regularly), the work can be found under the notebooks section by clicking on the correct category type.
- Reading
- The 'Read' page displays 10 randomly picked works from our database. From there, the work can be viewed in its entirety by clicking on the work's title. The author's profile can also be viewed by clicking the author's name.
- Profiles
- A user's profile can be edited by going to the 'Profile' section under the navigation sidebar and by clicking 'Edit' on that page. Profile information is entirely optional.
- To view another user's profile, search for and click on their name or enter 'http://www.writre.com/writer/{writer's id number}' into the browser's address bar.
- Shelves
- A user's shelf is used to subscribe to any writers that are found to be interesting. A writer can be added to a shelf by clicking the 'Add to Shelf' link below a writer's work.
- The 'Shelf' page will display the names of the writers that have been added, along with the number of works that have not been read. Another user's shelf can be viewed by clicking the 'View Shelf' link on their profile.
- Commenting
- Users can comment on other people's work by going to that work's specific page and entering their comment in the correct box. Comments can also be deleted by their authors at any time.
